Our Story — Becca & Danny

About Us

Becca and Danny met the way most college sweethearts do: at a fraternity party.

Becca was downtown at the VT. On her way up the hill, she stopped by DKE’s St. Patrick’s Day party to grab some friends for Diner B. She caught sight of Danny outside on the porch and asked around if anyone knew him. She was introduced (thank you, Jess and Angelo), and they talked for the rest of the party. At the end of the night, Danny walked Becca back to the Darkside dorms, and they went their separate ways. The next morning, Becca realized they had never exchanged numbers. After some light Facebook stalking and a few hours of anxiety, she decided to message him and give him her number. He claims he was going to do the same thing if she hadn’t messaged him.

He texted her right away, asking her to get lunch at McEwen. They've talked every day since. A few dining hall dates and many frat parties later, they made things official.

After graduation, they spent a year long-distance, with Becca in Boston and Danny in Minneapolis, before Becca gave in to the idea of living in the Midwest. She agreed under one condition: they get a dog. Two weeks after she moved in, they were "just looking" at an adoption event when Joey entered their lives. Two years later, after buying a house in Saint Paul and being deep into COVID lockdowns, they decided to "just look" for another dog when they brought Sammich home.

Danny proposed in August 2022 at their house while Becca was on the couch snuggling with the dogs. They went to their favorite neighborhood restaurant, Mucci’s, to celebrate.

By May 2024, Danny and Becca will have been together for 9 years. In that time, they have had epic adventures in new destinations and cozy evenings spent cuddled up on the couch. They've celebrated birthdays, graduations, new homes, and new jobs. Through it all, they have become not only each other's partners but also best friends and confidants.
