What to do in Minneapolis & Saint Paul
We do not recommend relying on public transportation in the Twin Cities. Ride sharing apps are the best way to get around without your own car.
Lake Bde Maka Ska
-
Minnesota is known as the land of “10,000 Lakes” for a reason. Head over to Lake Bde Maka Ska. You can park on Lake Street, stop into Legacy for some shopping (tell them you’re there for Becca’s wedding), grab a quick breakfast at Brim or Barbette and then walk around the river (~3 miles all the way around).
-
If you want to shop, drive or Uber to Legacy (1610 W. Lake Street). Barbette, a french bistro, is next door. Brim, a smoothie/toast shop is down the street towards the lake. Continue down Lake St. and you’ll hit the walking path to for the lake.
Walker Art Center
-
The Walker sculpture garden is free and open to the public. Grab a photo with the iconic Spoonbridge and wander around. There is a fee to enter the museum itself, but it is worth it if you are a modern art lover. The restaurant, Cardamom, is a great place to grab lunch. Or you can walk across the yellow bridge to Cafe Lurcat.
-
Uber or drive to the Walker Art Center. They have parking onsite.
Northeast Breweries
-
The Midwest knows how to drink beer. Northeast Minneapolis is a fun neighborhood to explore, known for being “hipster” and “artsy”. It is filled with old warehouses that have been converted to breweries, all within walking distance to each other. Our favorite is Bauhaus (gluten free, non-alcoholic options) and from there you can hit up Sociable Ciderworks and Indeed Brewing. They all have food trucks with great options.
-
Uber or drive to Bauhaus Brewery. They have a large parking lot. From there you can walk to others.
Play Pickleball
-
Head over to Lucky Shots in Minneapolis, but be sure to RESERVE A SPOT AHEAD OF TIME if you can. After, hop next door to Brother Justus for a cocktail. Alternatively, Minneapolis Cider Co. has courts you can reserve.
-
Uber or drive. Most courts have parking readily available.
